Education:  Bruce is a graduate of Astoria High School class of 1975.  He also attended the University of Oregon for business marketing.

Role At The Port:  Bruce has been the Port's Director of Cruise Industry Marketing since 2006. In his role, he maintains relationships with the cruise line networks, markets Clatsop County to senior cruise and riverboat executives, promotes Astoria as a cruise destination, and designs west coast cruise itineraries. Bruce also represents the Port in his role as the Vice President of the Cruise the West consortium. When ships come to town, Bruce personally welcomes cruise ships, captains, officers, crew, and guests to Astoria.

Work History:  Bruce previously worked for Bumble Bee Seafoods in Naknek, Alaska and Astoria. He is also the Senior VP of Marketing for Sundial Special Vacations, which provides group tours for developmentally-disabled travelers.

Family:  Bruce and his wife, Suzie, reside in their favorite town on the planet, Astoria!

Hobbies:  Bruce says that his favorite hobby is his job. When not working, he enjoys travelling with the developmentally-disabled, kayaking, and golfing.

Civic & Professional Activities: Bruce is very active in the communities of Astoria and Clatsop County. He is the VP of the Clatsop Cruise Hosts Board, the Chairman of the Walldorf-Astoria Sister City Committee, and the Chairman of the Riedel Scholarship Endowment.. He is a former Regatta Admiral's Aid & past President. He was previously on the City of Astoria City Council, Planning Commission, and Budget Committee. He has also served as an Astoria-Warrenton Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, on the Friends of the Astoria Column Board, the Floral Alameda Neighborhood Association, the Knights of Columbus, and the Clatsop Community College Foundation Board.
